The power seems to be better when plugged right into the wall and I never pumped anywhere regularly that wasn't next to an outlet. Don't let all the bells and whistles fool you.Īlso you can by a battery pack for the Spectra. I always had to hand express afterwards to completely empty. Lansinoh sucked! Because it didn't suck! The suction just never felt right, took way too long to get a letdown and never emptied my breast. The Madela gets the job done but suction is very harsh. Also Amazon Prime gets you any part next day and they have no name brands that fit and are a lot cheaper. You can buy replacement parts at Target nowadays so its not as inconvenient as it was 3yrs ago when I first got it. Its actually the 1st one I got free through insurance with my 1st and its still my favorite. Lansinoh, Madela Pump in style & Spectra S2. I'd just stay away from the Lansinoh pump and grab a Spectra like I now have to do!!! Sorry this was so long but I don't want you to have the same problems or even risk it. Or Huckleberry is awesome for sleep tracking and also pumping, feeding and diaper changes too! I've heard great things about it and that's what I'm planning on buying now! Also, the Lansinoh app seems cool but randomly disconnects from the pump (via Bluetooth), you can't control the settings from your phone, it just tells you what settings you used each session (the Spectra remembers the settings from your last pump so you don't need an app to remind you) and you can log in how much you pumped, but I find the BabyTime app so much better for that anyways, plus everything else like nursing, baby's sleep, diaper changes, growth, etc. The Lansinoh doesn't do it's job so now I have to get a new pump (out of pocket) because I can barely get an ounce from both sides- AND I have a good supply! When my supply was even better before my period (I had an OVERsupply), I STILL would only get like 1-2 oz from each side with this pump, and using the Medela Symphony at the hospital I would get way more, like 2-4 oz per side and that's before my milk even fully came in!! I easily get 3 oz from my Haakaa from one side in like 10 minutes, but the Lansinoh gets me barely ONE ounce in like 20-30 minutes!? That tells you how weak it is.Įveryone's body is different though, maybe you'll respond to it better and don't need much suction cup? But from my experience, I would most definitely go with the Spectra. Between her nursing less and my period starting, my supply has dropped a bit, so I want to start pumping to keep my supply up. Now that my LO is 7 months and eating some solids, she's nursing less, so I started my period. When I increase the suction, the speed slows down even more. It's so weak I can't even get a letdown (it takes like 10-20 second for it to happen while nursing, so it's definitely not me), and there are only 3 speed settings- all pretty slow compared to other pumps. and she was totally right! Thankfully my baby is EBF or I would have had to scramble last minute to get a new pump right away, because the suction is TERRIBLE. I got the Lansinoh through insurance for the same reasons and cannot even tell you how much I regret it!!Įven the IBCLC at the hospital made a face and said "Lansinoh has all the bells and whistles but it's not a good pump" when I asked if I should use my pump instead of the hospital pump.
